Berlin Ripple Fold Sheer Curtains — S-Fold, Custom Size

Ready-made sheers come in three lengths and hope one of them is close to your window. We don't work that way. You tell us the width of your rod or track, we cut and sew the panel for it, and it arrives finished and ready to hang.

The ripple fold is what makes it look architectural instead of homemade. Snap tape across the top, spaced so the fabric rolls into one continuous S from end to end — no pleats to flatten, nothing to re-dress after you draw it. Our Berlin sheer is 130 inches wide on the roll and we run it sideways, so your panel has no vertical seam through it at any width.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

• One finished ripple fold sheer panel, sewn to the width you select and the length you give us.
• 2.2x fullness built in. A panel that covers a 50" track is cut from about 110" of fabric, so the waves stay deep and even instead of pulling flat between the carriers.
• 1" ripple fold snap tape sewn across the top, ready to clip onto standard snap carriers.
• Blind-stitched sides and a 4" bottom hem. Weight tape on request.
• No vertical seams. The fabric runs sideways off a 130" roll, so even a wide panel is one single piece.
• Cut and sewn to 1/4 inch.
• Price is per panel. For a pair, order quantity 2.

THE FABRIC

"Berlin" by Alendel — 100% polyester sheer, woven in Turkey, from their ONE-THIRTY book.

• A dense, substantial sheer. At 1.15 lb per yard it carries roughly twice the weight of an ordinary voile, which is why it falls into a clean wave instead of drifting around.
• 130 inches wide on the roll, railroaded — this is what lets us build wide panels with no seam, up to 120 inches long.
• Oeko-Tex certified.
• Flame-retardant: passes NFPA 701 and CAN/ULC-S109. That matters for kitchens, condo buildings, rentals, and any hospitality or contract job with a fire code attached to it.
• The mill's care code is WA, washable: machine wash cool 65–85F, no bleach, no tumble dry, hang to dry, cool iron. That's the fabric on the roll — please read our CARE section below before you act on it, because a finished ripple fold panel is a different matter.
• 11 colours: White, Marble, Ivory, Muslin, Marzipan, Mushroom, Light Taupe, Clay, Limestone, Chrome, Smoke.

THREE WAYS TO ORDER IT

Unlined. The sheer on its own. Daylight comes through soft and diffused, the window stays bright, and shapes outside stay blurred. After dark, with the lights on inside, a single sheer does not give you privacy — that is true of every sheer, ours included.

Privacy lining. A light backing behind the sheer. The panel still reads as a sheer from the room and from the street, but it stops the after-dark silhouette and takes the hard edge off afternoon sun.

Blackout. The same Berlin sheer on the face, with a blackout lining behind it. The lining is what stops the light; the sheer is what you see. From the street and from inside the room you still get the soft, translucent face of a sheer panel — and the room goes dark. It is the answer for a bedroom where you want the look of sheers and the sleep of a blackout.

HOW TO MEASURE — THE SHORT VERSION

1. WIDTH: Measure your rod or track end to end. That's the number you pick in the size menu.

That width is what the panel covers once it's gathered on the rod. We build the fullness in for you, so don't multiply anything.

Want two panels that meet in the middle? Measure your rod, divide by two, and order two panels at that size. A 100" rod is two panels at 50" each. The menu always means one panel, not the whole window.

2. LENGTH: this one depends on your rod.

Buying the rod from us along with the sheer? Then don't measure the drop at all. Just tell us how high the rod is going up — how far off the floor it will sit — and we'll work the length out for you and cut it to match.

Using a rod you already have? Then tell us the finished length you want: from the top of the panel down to where it should stop. Put that number in the personalization box.

3. HOW IT'S HANGING: tell us whether the track goes on the wall or on the ceiling, and whether it's a straight run, a bay or a corner. One line is enough.

Sheer is the one fabric a screen cannot show you honestly — the whole point of it is what happens when your light comes through it. Order a swatch set and look at it on your own window, at your own time of day. What you pay for the samples comes off your order when you place it.

HARDWARE, IF YOU STILL NEED IT

Ripple fold needs a track with snap carriers — it will not work on a standard rod with rings. We make the track, the carriers and the brackets ourselves, in square and decorative round profiles, cut to length the same way the panels are.

MADE TO ORDER

Nothing is cut until your order is in. Your panel is made for your window and it can't go back on a shelf, so made-to-order goods aren't returnable — and we'd rather say that here than hide it in the small print.

Here is how we keep you out of trouble. Order a swatch first and see the fabric in your own light. Send us your measurements and we check them with you before a single cut is made — if a number looks wrong, we say so. And if the panel arrives wrong because we got it wrong, we remake it. No argument, no cost to you.

CARE

Unlined panels: Dry cleaning highly recommended. You may machine wash at your own risk — we don't recommend it. We recommend dry cleaning.

Privacy lining or Blackout: Dry clean only.

Why we push dry cleaning on a fabric the mill calls washable: nothing shrinks and nothing falls apart in the wash. The problem is the shape. A ripple fold panel is sewn to hold a wave, and once that wave is washed out of it there is no practical way to press it back in at home.
