A white faux linen flat Roman shade framed on all four sides with a black border — graphic, tailored contrast that works like an architect's pen line around the window. Cut and sewn to your window, by hand, in our Toronto workroom.
How the classic flat shade is built. Rod pockets are constructed with 2 seams on the shade's front, connecting 2 layers — the front fabric and the lining. Rods inserted into the pockets create a nice relief. With polycotton lining, light can pass through and highlight the rods; with blackout lining you won't see the lines but still get a clean relief. Horizontal stitches hold the front fabric and the lining together and form straight horizontal lines when the shade goes up. With blackout, a separate back fabric layer is added for maximum light and sun protection.

Measuring and tolerance. Measure with a steel tape to the nearest 1/8″ and give us the width first, then the height. We sew to 1/4″ precision — fabric is a soft material, and a quarter inch is what it truly holds. Tell us your control side (left or right) and whether the shade is mounting inside or outside the window frame.
Worried it won't fit? Send your measurements — we'll show you how to take them — and we double-check sizing with you before we cut. Custom means no returns, and that's exactly why we check first; if a mistake is ours, we remake it.
Fabric samples. We don't charge for the fabric samples themselves — you only cover the shipping. And when you place your order, that cost is credited back to you.
