A European relaxed Roman shade in Tuscany 100% linen, made to your exact window size and sewn to 1/4-inch accuracy in our Toronto workroom. Choose a blackout or light-filtering lining and one of 9 natural colours — we cut, sew and ship your custom shade in 10 days or less.

The European relaxed style

When the shade is all the way down, it's a flat rectangle of fabric with a pocket at the bottom for the weight bar; piping along the top adds a decorative touch. As you raise it, it forms a soft relaxed "sag" in the middle — the longer the shade, the more folds it will have. For outside mounts we also provide free side flats to cover the mechanism.

Tip: if you'd like the folds to cover the bottom of your window even when lowered (a favourite for bathrooms kept down for privacy), order the shade 16–24 inches longer than your window — and tell us both the window height and the adjusted height so the chain stays the right length.

The fabric

Tuscany is 100% linen with a natural, dimensional texture that filters daylight into a warm glow. 9 colours, from warm neutrals (Eggshell, Dune, Linen, Natural) to greys (Oyster, Cadet Grey, Charcoal Grey) — see the colour charts in the photos. Want a contrast border, another fabric or a different colour combination? Message us — we make custom requests every week.

Choose your lining

  • Polycotton — light-filtering, keeps the linen glow
  • Soft blackout — for bedrooms and nurseries. Blackout lining has a grey tinge that can slightly alter the perceived fabric colour, so we sew a polycotton layer between the blackout and the linen to keep your colour true.

Child safety: anchor the included chain tensioner to the wall to keep the loop taut and out of children's reach.

How to order

  1. Measure with a steel tape, to the nearest 1/8 inch. How-to video: how to measure your window
  2. Enter your exact width and height, choose your colour and lining.
  3. Tell us: inside or outside mount · control side (left or right; right is default).

We sew to your size within 1/4 inch and ship in 10 days or less. US orders arrive duty-free.
