Will a custom Roman shade fit my window?

Yes. Send your measurements and we will show you how to take them. Every shade is cut and sewn to your exact window within 1/4" (a quarter of an inch), and we send an approval sketch before we cut. If our mistake makes it wrong, we remake it.

How long does a made-to-order Roman shade take?

Your shade is made to order in our Toronto workroom and ships in 10 days or less. Most custom window treatments take six to eight weeks; ours do not.

Can I return a custom shade?

Custom means it is made for your window, so returns are not available. That is why we double-check sizing with you first and send an approval sketch before cutting. 2,000+ five-star reviews, and if it is our error, we make it right.

Do you offer blackout lining and cordless options?

Yes. Choose soft blackout or dim-out lining, and chain or cordless operation. Cordless is a child-safe choice for nurseries and bedrooms.

A flat Roman shade with a scalloped wave along the bottom — a soft, hand-drawn curve instead of a straight hem. It is a small detail that changes the whole window: tailored at the top, gentle at the bottom.

Every shade is cut, sewn and squared by hand in our Toronto workroom to within 1/8 of an inch of the size you give us. Nothing is pre-made.

The fabric

Regatta is a linen-viscose blend with a rich, slightly slubby texture and a fluid drape — it hangs heavier and reads richer than plain linen. The listing also carries two companion cloths so you can match a room you have already started: Tuscany is 100% linen, and Origin is 100% cotton. Twelve colours in all: Regatta Fairy Tale, Tear Drop, Scenic Blue, ThunderCloud, Blossom and Dove; Tuscany White, Oyster, Dune, Gleam and Prism; Origin Camelia.

What you get

Premium lining as standard (polycotton). Chain mechanism with a child-safety tension device. Piping across the top of the shade. Side flats for outside-mounted shades. Headrail, brackets, screws and installation instructions are all in the box.

The scalloped wave hem

The wave is finished with a contrast border along the curve. Tell us the border colour you would like when you place the order. Because the curve eats into the drop, add 6–8 inches to the length you want finished — we will confirm the numbers with you before we cut.

Inside mount or outside mount

Inside mount sits within the window recess, clean and architectural. Outside mount covers the frame, hides an awkward opening and blocks more light at the edges.

How to measure

Width first, then height. For an inside mount, measure the opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, and give us the narrowest of the three — we make the deductions here, so do not subtract anything yourself. For an outside mount, add 2–3 inches on each side and 3–4 inches above the opening. If your finished size falls between two bands, choose the band it falls into.
